The Exaequo Soft Watch is a unique timepiece inspired by Salvador Dalì’s surreal art, particularly his painting "The Disintegration of the Persistence of Memory." Founded in 1990 by Philippe Muller, the Soft Watch was designed with an unconventional pear shape that breaks away from traditional round watch designs. Its first series featured a gold-plated case with a minimalist dial and a distinctive crown screw, while subsequent series introduced various colors, materials, and dial designs.

Measuring approximately 47mm by 27mm, the Soft Watch showcases a playful yet sophisticated aesthetic, often adorned with vibrant colors and unique graphics. Made with durable gold plating, it offers both style and reliability, powered by a dependable quartz movement. The ergonomic design ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist, making it not just a watch but a wearable piece of art.

Thanks to the efforts of my friend Andrea Casalegno (IamCasa), the Exaequo Soft Watch has gained recognition and popularity in recent years, increasing in value from 200 euros to over 3,000 euros for some models. This resurgence highlights the watch’s status as a collectible and a testament to the fusion of art and horology. The Soft Watch stands out as a striking alternative to more mainstream luxury watches, offering enthusiasts an accessible way to appreciate Dalì’s influence in the world of timepieces.
